Crystal, is a 36 -year resident of Wildcat in Queens County, NS and spent 10 years in B.C. She lives with her husband Shawn of 28 years. Deeply connected to both the outdoors and the community members, she has lived on and off reserve and gained diverse work experience across many fields. Known for her integrity, honesty, and strong work ethic, Crystal draws on the wisdom of her family and life experiences to guide her work. Passionate about the land and the people, she works from the Wildcat Office, collaborating with staff, leadership, and community members to ensure programs reflect the shared values of Wasoqopa’q First Nation.

She was one of the first Earth Keepers in Nova Scotia for 5 years, and one of the first female commercial lobster fishers for Wasoqopa’q First Nation in LAF#34. She is an Apiarist, currently in Wildcat and loves to share her knowledge with any community member that is willing to help and listen. She believes that unity, teamwork, and accountability are essential to build a strong and sustainable future for generations to come. Crystal currently oversees the Lands, Parks and Forestry, Nova Scotia Power, and Emergency Management Operations (EMO) portfolios, and will also contribute to the Environment and Species at Risk (SAR) portfolio.
