Community Notice - August 28, 2019

This is a notice to advise all band members that in the process of providing clear and transparent information to all band members, the following documents will be  approved by Chief and Council and will be made available for viewing by Band Members at all community locations.  With the launch of the new Acadia First Nation website, these same documents will be uploaded in PDF form to the website for viewing as well. I can be reached at the Yarmouth administration building if there are any questions.

A notice for Members of Acadia First Nation

Heat pumps will no longer be installed unless acquired through an energy conservation program.

The Regular maintenance of these heat pumps will be the responsibility of the homes assigned occupant.

SWANA Releases 2019 Scholarship Applications - Deadline to Submit is May 1st

In support of its strategic value to support and provide industry education, SWANA has released its Grant H. Flint Scholarship Awards Program applications for 2019. 

SWANA will award up to $25,000 in scholarships to deserving students in calendar 2019. In recommending students to SWANA for consideration in the North American program, many of SWANA’s 45 chapters will make additional local awards to students applying from their individual areas.

Social Applications for the New Fiscal Year

It is time to renew Social Applications for the new fiscal year. As the program is now computer based all applications need to be done on the computer and therefore no paper applications will be available. If you do not take the time to make an appointment to renew your application you will not receive your assistance.

Please bring the following with you: 2017-18 income tax assessment, yours and spouses, health card, band card and social insurance card. If you receive a diet please have your doctor's letter and a copy of your latest light bill if you receive money on your budget for your light bill. 

If you receive Adult Care services you will need to fill out an application on the computer as well and will also need your doctors letter confirming you require this service and proof of income.
