Available Resources and Supports for People Afftected by Wildfire

Financial Support

Mental Health Resources

  • Access Wellness Nova Scotia, by Nova Scotia Health is a free, single-session supportive counselling service for individuals, couples, or families. 
  • Peer Support Line is a non-crisis social support for adults 18 and older
  • On May 30, 2023, the Province began offering Text4HopeNS, a supportive text messaging tool for any Nova Scotian affected by the wildfires.
  • Kids Help Phone is a national helpline for young people between the ages of 5 and 20, offering confidential and anonymous support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Additional Supports

  • Local start-up, vLife, is offering free membership for a year for any business affected by the fires. vLife is a social enterprise platform (a digital marketplace) that connects small independent local businesses to the growing number of buy-local shoppers.
